Hi,
As I promise I am writing from Dushanbe, Tadjikistan. Yeap I try to keep my word and making at least three people much happier tonight.J Yap I am still alive and kicking the bike and going towards east.
The report on English is different, just because there is no reason to translate all that I wrote on Slovene.
However from last English update is ages ago. Last weeks I was traveling through Central Asia. After super weeks in Iran – thanks to Azari and Bahreman family and many others – all the truck drivers, all the people that gave me place to eat and sleep I have to move on.
I went first to Turkmenistan. Wow what I surprise was that. The capital city named Asqabad – I do not know if that is right spelling – was down on cca. 400 m. above sea level. First it was hot, hot, hot…and second the city is full of fancy buildings, hotels, parks, business centers but nobody is there. It is just the president wish to build those things for people. Oh yeah it is “dictator” way of politic system. It was just unreal. Otherwise the county is really poor. There is a rule that water, electrics and gas is free of cost. But what/how help you that if they turn of the electrics at 9 pm or if in the middle of desert there is no drinkable water for people leaving there.
And after the city I hit the road towards heat and desert. I had 7 days and 740 km to cover, while the average temperature was above 40 through day and maybe around 30 C at night. It was a challenge for body and mind. I loved the new experience sleeping in desert. All around you is just sand and nothing else. The rest of the country was at least more real. People were nice and always trying to help. So I had my rest twice per day – during midday and night. And everyday was same story. Keep pushing to get it closer to the border. Last day I manage to spend few hours in Chadhev and hit the border at 3 pm. How happy and glad I was when I was in Uzbekistan. I cycle 10 more km and went for bed. I was tired. It took it easy next few days till Bukhara and later to Smaraqand. Uzbekistan was ok. Both of the cities were nice. But my body did not want to follow that. I had stomach problems and just to get me back to normal it took few days.
Now I am in Dushanbe, Tadjikistan. I manage to get myself over the pass of 3372 m. It was hard for body, but great for mind. The views were really nice. And that is what I looking forward in this country – nature, great mountains, and hard work on bike.
The trip is still full of good and different moment, ups and downs. I am still dealing with technical problems. But I guess at least at the end I will learn the lesson.
If there is anyone who knows more about how to put up personal blog I would like to change the one I have now and same goes for domain. Yeap I think the trip deserve better presentation for people at home and for people that become my new friends. Give me the e-mail and I will respond in Osh. I should be there in less then a moth and will definitely take few days off to get me and everything ready for next part. I did 8000 km and 120 days already, but still looking forward for new days, new people, and new places…
Sunshine and smiles…..
