Request for a help…

Dear all,

this words are flying out now to all different parts of the world. The world, where I had a chance to meet up with you. There are moments shared for which I am grateful. With some of you I am in regular contact, with others (I am sorry) I am not. But all of you once in my life help me out to stand up to be who I am.

Tonight I am writing to you with a request for a help.

We all go through life taking different paths. Some are easy, others are more difficult. For some it takes courage, for others just a bit of luck. But for all the moments in our journey through life we need to be healthy.

Health, as long as we are healthy we do not appreciate it enough, nor we know what we have. When we become sick, we become aware how important being healthy is.

Some people are not that lucky. One of them is my cousin Rok.

Rok is 13 years old. Since the day he was born, he is suffering from leukemia (More about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leukemia). From first diagnosis doctors and parents are trying to help him, but unfortunately unsuccessful so far. Beside all the treatment, he has had chemotherapy already. Instead of playing games, running through forest, he must take strong medicines, regular visit one or another doctors, have different examinations and therapies, and too often have
to change his home for a room in the  hospital. The only opportunity and hope for a complete cure would have been bone marrow
transplantation.

But Rok is not only a patient and a regular visitor to the Institute of Oncology. Rok is a “fighter”, son to his father and mother, the
elder brother to Zan, a friend and a classmate at primary school Janko Kersnik, Brdo pri Lukovici, Slovenia.

Teachers’ board has started with the initiative to organize a charity concert, which would raise funds for Rok. First wish and need for Rok is to get a notebook, so that he would be able to remain connected to the world outside the hospital during the days of his hospitalization.

Charity concert will take place on Thursday, 2.12. at 19.00 at the primary school Janko Kersnik, Brdo pri Lukovici, Slovenia.

Rok parents do not want to get the story into public. I & my family decided that this year we would try to help them out and add our little present for Happy December and better future. In addition to the concert, we decided for personal fund-raising for Rok.
